Aston vs Sandon

Aston earn their second win of the season

Aston bowled first and immediately put pressure on the visitors with opening bowlers Mike Hurry and Richard Falder.  They were ably supported by Eddie O'Hanlon and David Stanbury.  Mike Hurry bowled excellently throughout the innings and this resulted in restricting the visitor to a modest 122 all out.

Aston set about reaching the target straight away but to start with it looked like they may struggle. Sandon managed to remove both openers quickly leaving Aston 0-1 and then 9-2.  This brought Jason Burns to the crease and an excellent 77 off only 55 balls, supported by Liam O'Hanlon (25 not out), saw Aston home easily with 7 wickets to spare.

Astons man of the match

A strong candidate with an unbeaten 77 was Jason Burns, but it has to go to Mike Hurry bowling 24 overs straight finishing with figures of 58 for 8.
